Why so Serious? RaidFinder Pro is for You!

Why so Serious?
I started playing online games many years sgo on The Realm and I still have fond memories of sneaking in to other people’s houses and stealing from their chest while they had it open then suddenly getting kicked out. It was a drinking game that I did not take seriously.

From there my friends and I moved onto EverQuest. That is when my experience changed. There were 40 of us killing a dragon in an ice cave. I had not slept in over 40hrs working on leveling up my character to maintain my standing with this guild. We would try to organize to be first in force when a world boss spawned only to be grieved by another guild training enemies into our raiding party to cause us to wipe.

Then along came World of Warcraft. This game offered instanced raids and much better graphics and rich content. It was like sitting in a new car on the show room floor. I played WOW until the end of the Mist of Pandaria. Wow had lost its luster for me two expansions ago. I had to force myself to log in and play so I would not lose my raiding spot. I really wanted to simply play casually and use the in game group finding tool and raid finder. But, even then the dungeons were bland and the raids were just okay.
Along the way my kids grew up. Raised on the Nintendo and then moving to Call of Duty and Destiny. Now as teenagers they play with school friends in League of Legends, Guild Wars 2 and Final Fantasy XIV.
Being a MMORPG dad, I may have nurtured the MMO games and rich history of them to my boy’s.

Having used the website The100.io for Destiny the boys were accustomed to making an event and having people sign up for it. They were dismayed with the MMO’s in game party finding tools. There is no way to schedule an event for a future date. Sure you could get a group ‘now’ (and now being sometime within an hour or two) but there was no way to schedule an event for their prime game playing times. It’s not amusing to finally get a group with only 30min left to play.
This is how Raid Finder Pro came into existence. The boys saved up money and hired a website programmer to create Raid Finder Pro from the ground up. I was happy to support them and proud to see those two stick with it.

So, Why so Serious?

Along the way the boys’ website, www.raidfinderpro.com, has gained attention. Some good and some are bad. They have attracted the attention of haters. The website has been attacked and notes left on the site and YouTube channel. Some got deleted for being vulgar. As a dad I want things family friendly. I know trolls come in all forms and we should have taken better precautions against this, but I honestly did not think a free to use website that offers a tool to help gamers could be so abhorrent, according to the trolls. This has not affected them much, more so me, and they are excited to have a functioning website that offers amenities that in game LFG tools are lacking.
